Why MLM Companies Fail

By Russell Howe

If you are one of the many individuals around the world who is trying to make money online, it is highly likely that you have already encountered multi-level marketing opportunities on your journey. Today, we shall take a look it is very rare for a company in this industry to succeed long-term.

With the current financial climate, more and more people are turning to the internet in the hope of generating a secondary income. However, despite the claims of 'easy riches' you can see plastered everywhere on the worldwide web, most people don't make a dime.

More and more online businesses are being created each month, despite the fact that over 85% of them fail within the first twelve months. There are a couple of important reasons which contribute to this widespread failure.

Before we look into that, it is important to recognize that not all companies fail. There are some great opportunities out there, and there are many people who have built solid incomes online in their spare time.
Full time father Russ Howe reveals how he managed to make money online for his young son.

Of course, occasionally you'll see a program which experiences the levels of success the likes of Empower Network or Mary Kay have enjoyed.

The two main reasons that most companies struggle to last long-term are shown below.

* Weak products.

* Ugly presentation which doesn't do it's job.

If you were creating a business, the points written above would probably be the first two items on your list of things to do. But for some reason, this does not translate across to the powers that be creating these opportunities, too.

Without a doubt, the biggest problem is caused by the lack of interest MLM companies place in their products and services. You will often find opportunities which have powerful, lucrative affiliate plans but it is almost impossible to build a long-term income with them because they do not provide anything of value.

Some of the programs which do not stand the test of time actually have fantastic affiliate programs attached to them but, as a result of not paying attention to their product range, they simply cannot stay in business long-term.

Secondly, most companies in this particular industry like to overplay the importance of the affiliate plan. This results in a very bad presentation which often makes the business itself look like little more than a get rich quick scheme. The first instance of a company going down this road is when they put themselves into 'pre-launch' before going live.

That phase allows people to join for free and usually sets the entire program up for failure, because anything is easy to build when it is free and presented as a method of earning a secondary income without any effort. Of course, when launch day arrives everybody who was just looking for an easy financial solution suddenly quits, while everybody who was genuinely serious about becoming their own boss loses interest as their entire list of pre-launch referrals quit from underneath them, too.

Many people only want to make money online if it is easy. However, until you are able to face up to the responsibilities of working for yourself you won't be able to take advantage of any opportunity. There is money to be made regardless of whether your prospective opportunity is MLM, affiliate marketing or network marketing, but in order to achieve it you need to drop any expectations of an easy life.
