Improving Your Affiliate Sales With These Tips

By Joseph Stan

Over the past few years affiliate marketing has changed a lot, mainly because right now there's more competition and sometimes it's a little harder to make money especially if you are brand new to the industry. Hopefully the tips in this article will help you achieve better results in your affiliate marketing ventures.

There are thousands of affiliate products and programs out there, in my opinion if you really want to make the big money you need to go for affiliate programs that pay recurring commissions. There are not a lot of them but products like webhosting, membership sites and software are a few examples that actually can pay recurring commissions. The benefit is that you make the sale once and you make money from that sale every month for as long as your customer pays.

If you are advertising on your site you do not want to go with pop-up ads, instead use pop-under ads in marketing. Most browsers block the pop-up ads, so your prospects may never see them anyway. Studies have shown that pop-unders loaded into the page background get more reader response than pop-up ads do.

If you own your own product you may want to have your own affiliate program. Offer to include your customers in your affiliate program. You can ask the customer if they would like to be an affiliate for you after they have made a purchase. One sale can lead to a multitude of them if you can get a customer interested in being an affiliate themselves. This practice can broaden your sales network and help you reap some real benefits from affiliate marketing.

Some affiliate marketers make the mistake to promote too many things at once. This with the goal of becoming super affiliates, but the truth is promoting too many stuff at once can be dangerous because you might lose focus. Instead try working with 2-3 programs and focus on those until you are able to make some good money. It takes time and energy to build a profitable affiliate marketing business, but if you are determined and create great content and stay focused there's no reason why you shouldn't make money.
