The Reasons Most Internet Marketers Fail To Make Money Online With Their Business

By Russell Howe

In an industry which attracts tens of thousands of new members daily, it's a surprise that over 90% of budding entrepreneurs actually fail to make any money online. Indeed, reviews of companies like Empower Network and Amazon are keen to inform you of the potential riches you can achieve by becoming an affiliate, but they seldom disclose the figures showing that only a small percentage are actually succeeding.

Out of the thousands trying to build an income online, only a small handful actually are doing it.

There are a few key reasons why this happens. We will run through each of them today. They are as follows:

* Lack of knowledge on how to run a business.

* No support from those around you.

* Affiliates generally quit in the early stages of developing a business idea.

* Very little consistency when it comes to your marketing efforts.

If someone is able to eliminate all four items on the list above, then they are usually on the road to success within their chosen affiliate program. Usually, though, at least one of the items above will prove to be the marketer's downfall. [

Let's look at each item in a little bit more detail right now.

* Lack of knowledge on how to run a business.

The worldwide web is a great thing and it has made it possible for anybody to create a living without even leaving their home. However, this also works as a negative, with many people jumping into home business opportunities without any idea on how to manage the daily running of a business.

* Friends tend to be very negative about working on the internet.

The first time you tell your family and friends that you have ambitions to make money online you are likely to be faced with a barrage of insults about being a dreamer and a lazy person. That's because the internet is synonymous with the get rich quick scheme. Of course, these are not real and anyone who makes a full time income via the internet has to work incredibly hard for it. You shouldn't let this initial negative reaction get you down, because it can put you on a path to failure.

* Quitting too easily.

There is a six month rule in the business world. If somebody can make it six months, they have shown that they have what it takes to succeed. Most affiliate marketers can not do this. They become stressed out if they don't see any results within the first three months and quit on themselves. Then they find another business and repeat the process again. If you want to reach success you need to be prepared to work at it into the long term.

* Lack of consistency.

Furthermore, if you only put in effort for a short period of time you can expect very few results. While it's easy to get motivated at the start of a new venture while you are excited by the possibility of working for yourself, it's the individuals who are still able to do this six months down the line who will reach success. While everybody says they are prepared to work at their business long-term, very few actually are.

Ensuring that you can steer clear of these four common mistakes will dramatically improve your chances of reaching your goals. If you hold ambitions to work for yourselves it pays to keep an eye on the tough mental aspect involved in working for yourself. As you gain experience in the world of affiliate programs, you will begin to notice that these same four issues prevent people from achieving success in programs ranging from Empower Network, to Amazon, to Avon.
